A Sheriff Working for Tarrant County
Updated on Monday, Sep 9, 2024

Sheriff Waybourn's office recently proposed new reforms that he believes will improve transparency and aid in dealing with increased mental health issues and drugs in Tarrant County.

These reforms include an independent review of jail policies, body cameras for county jailers, and other new personnel policies.

In this week's Commissioners' Court meeting, Judge O'Hare and the County Commissioners endorsed and supported these proposals, agreeing with Sheriff Waybourn

that they will help law enforcement in their duties.

One such policy would provide a wellness program for officers, which will help them deal with the extremely difficult and dangerous situations they face on a daily basis.
