On the topic of racism and corruption...

The Republican Primary Runoff results are now in place, so the focus for those who understand and desire a Constitutional based nation to live in and enjoy the pursuit of happiness for them and their fellow citizen will peak in November.

It has been somewhat a mystery to me why some think that the current Democrat party, and the current candidates that we will see in the November General ballot from that party appear to promote the type of America that is fair and equitable. History is clear that the Democrat party is the party of Jim Crow, the party with leaders that are culpable for a variety of societal evils such as an infusion of immigrants that have violated our written laws to live here, the wholesale killing of unborn babies and corruption and fraud in all the major cities where they exercise complete control.

If you are on the fence on which party candidates to vote for in November, I would encourage you to do some investigation of what I am saying. The evidence is there for those with a desire for what is true and right. No politician rises to the level of infallibility, so finding a problem with a Republican candidate should be balanced with the same investigation of a Democrat candidate. Not just their words, but who is financing them, what organizations support them and if possible, what decisions they have made in an elected or appointed position. Let's have a great summer, leaving some time for this very important task of doing our own research that will culminate in a ballot this coming November.

Is the desire for America to be great wrong?

Some people recoil at the idea of America being a "great" nation. Most of us are not, but perhaps understanding the sentiments that are behind those polar opposites can help us differentiate the means from the ends. For people that travel to other countries, they see and perceive the differences between America and the countries that they visit. For some, they effuse with accolades for that country, because it provides a vacation like atmosphere for indulgence, a "pursuit of happiness" that they don't necessarily find in America due to various circumstances. For others I have talked with, they see the value that America entails with the type of personal freedom that is coupled with responsibility. 

But these are personal reflections that are focused on individual benefits, not necessarily an environment that elevates the status of people who embrace freedom with responsibility. This concept is developed in an article by Dr. Robert Malone, who is an American physician and biochemist. His early work focused on mRNA technology, pharmaceuticals, and drug repurposing research. He is credited for the first successful introduction of mRNA into human cells. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Malone published articles and research on the danger of COVID-19 vaccines.

In a recent article titled China Controls the Stuff Your Life Runs On, Dr. Malone describes these attitudes toward America to reveal the effects that are downstream from losing ones respect and support for ones country and its leaders that align with our Constitutional basis. I encourage taking the time to read this article and understand its implications prior to the next time you vote in an election.

Why Vote?

A lot of voices vie for your attention during times when voting takes place in your community. Most are partisan voices that support candidates aligning with the values and beliefs of a particular political party. Other voices are those who have contempt for the current set of candidates provided by any party, citing examples of why they feel the best approach is to “escape the matrix” into their own society with its allegedly superior means of governance. Yet other voices condemn anyone that votes for any candidate that does not meet a high standard that rarely exists in any person with intentions to run for office. It can be confusing for anyone that does not have a firm idea of the type of society that they and future generations would experience the most benefit from.

Perhaps it would be helpful to remember that most people are extremely busy in today’s society, feeling the pressure of a higher cost of living that results in difficult choices for their time, health and emotional well being. I suggest that due to this, people are looking for easy ways to ease the angst and are more susceptible to sound bytes, not having the time or the will to think through the implications of short, cliché statements that are designed to move ones emotions a certain way. I have had to recognize my own bias when I hear something that moves me emotionally. When I take some time to evaluate the emotional appeal and the source of the appeal, there is often good reason to not allow a given sound byte to master my thoughts and beliefs.

I believe that voting in this society, at this time, is a treasure that each of us have that we will ultimately give an account of our use of that treasure. In the parable of the stewards in Scripture, one did nothing with their allotted treasure, and the consequences of that belief became evident in time. We are not told how the other stewards increased their allotted treasure, but there was an increase that the Master praised and rewarded. I believe that we should consider our vote that way – spending it in a way that it promotes God’s standard of justice, putting the responsibility of our societal obligations more on the individual than a government that Scripture speaks very little about, other than giving them the sword to punish evil and reward good. We all desire a good life, free from hurt and pain and the impacts of evil for ourselves and our family. We should also want that for others who travel this earth with us. One good way we can do that in this culture at this time is to vote for those who are closest to those ideas that elevate good and not evil.
