Upcoming Texas Constitutional Amendment Election & Special Election

This November Texas voters will be voting on 17 Constitutional Amendment ballot propositions. I've got them listed on the Elections page, and will have some opinions and recommendations listed there based on my research. Click on any of the links on the right side of the page if you want my reasons, or the analysis of the organizational links there for additional information on any given ballot proposal. In addition, at the top of the page there are voters guides that I found helpful when researching these ballot proposals. Please do some level of research on your own on these ballot propositions before November. Hopefully you don't consider yourself like this happy couple that have not yet realized the problems with the way they think about their citizenship responsibilities - (lol!)

There is also a special election to fill the vacancy of State Senator Kelly Hancock, who was appointed by Governor Abbott to fill the vacancy in the Texas Comptrollers office. There are three declared candidates in this Senate District 9 special election:

John Huffman (Republican), Taylor Rehmet (Democrat) and Leigh Wambsganns (Republican). Leigh has the support of many Tarrant County Republican office holders at this time and the endorsement of our President, Donald Trump. Her credentials are well suited to this position, so I recommend that you spend time looking into her candidacy at her website. John Huffman apparently has received significant campaign funds from gambling organizations. He represents himself as conservative based on his tenure in elected office in Southlake, TX. His campaign website is available, but I recommend you look at the research that is out there on his actual voting record and his financial backing before making a voting choice in this race. I cannot recommend a Democrat at this time in our county history for this office.

There are no early voting locations in Haltom City for this election. You can find the list of early voting locations on the Tarrant County Elections website. There will be three (3) voting locations in Haltom City on election day. One is at the Haltom City Senior Center, one is at the Haltom City Library, and one is at Landmark Baptist Church at 1909 Thomas Road.
