2022 Texas Republican State Convention

The 2022 Texas Republican State Convention in Houston, TX started Monday, Jun 13 and ends on Saturday, Jun 18. As I wrote this, the convention was deliberating on the state platform, which, once voted on by the convention delegation and the results processed will be available on the state party website at texasgop.org.
Our newly elected SREC (State Republican Executive Committee) members for SD (Senate District) 9 in which our precinct is located in are Dan Tully and Anne Gebhart. Anne was re-elected in our SD 9 caucus at the state convention Friday morning. Dan was newly elected to take the place of the previous term - limited committeeman, Steve Atwell also on Friday morning. Dan was a previous SREC member in SD 10, but with 2020 redistricting he now lives in SD 9.
For the state party leadership, Matt Rinaldi was unanimously re-elected as the Republican state chair, and Dr. Dana Myers won the Vice Chair election in a field of 3 candidates.
Of interest to many will be the 8 Legislative Priorities that Republicans seek to accomplish in the next Texas Legislative session starting in Jan 2023. These are now available on the Texas Republican party website here. A Legislative priorities committee prepared the draft based on convention delegate testimony leading up to the convention and during the first 3 days of the convention and was voted on by the convention delegates.
The energy and enthusiasm expressed at the convention by convention delegates was personally inspiring to me. The people all over this state that love Texas, love America and care about the future direction of America will continue to inspire me to represent the ideals we shared at the convention. Shared ideals included acknowledging and honoring God from where our freedom and the rule of law is derived and the Republican form of government vested in the US Constitution that has resulted in America's greatness among the nations of the world.
