What did the new Republican House Rules in Washington, D.C. Change?
Updated on Wednesday, Jan 25, 2023

Because of the tenacity of the 20 "hold-out" Republicans that negotiated with Rep. McCarthy on changing the House rules, there will be a change in how business is done in the House in Washington, DC. With the former Speaker of the House, Rep. Pelosi, previous House rules prevented any action by the minority Republican Party members that would promote change in America based on conservative beliefs and principles. Under her leadership the House rules effected the following:

  • Deleted the motion to recommit rule during her tenure:  newsmax.com
  • Provided the ability to grant emergency status to any Democrat bill and the ability to “adjust” the cost estimates for any spending bills related to the coronavirus or to climate change “so that their budgetary impacts don’t count as increasing deficits under House rules: PatriotPost
  • A policy of having to vote on omnibus bills before having a chance to effectively review them, including bills that spent in excess of $7 trillion dollars:  The Americanist
  • Essentially hamstrung the minority party's ability to prevent fiscal suicide with government funds. Democrat Legislators voted unanimously without debate whatever was presented by a few Democrat insider party leaders. This is not the America our ancestors gave us, it is the deliberate corruption of our nations ideals of debate and review of proposed policies.
  • Proxy voting - a House member could cast their vote from their home.

Under the new House rules that were negotiated by the brave and determined 20 Republicans who have a better understanding of the dangers we are facing in America, the following rule changes will take effect:

  • Allowing a single member to make the motion to remove the Speaker if he goes back on his word or policy agenda
  • A "Church" style committee, as recommended by Tucker Carlson: this allows us to look into the weaponization of organizations like the FBI against the American people
  • A vote on term limits Single-subject bills that can't be loaded with irrelevant nonsense
  • A Texas border plan
  • A budget that stops an increase in the debt ceiling and holds the Democrat-controlled Senate accountable
  • Ending ALL COVID mandates and funding
  • Requiring a minimum of 72 hours to read a bill

My hope is not in a Congress, but in God to move upon people's hearts and minds to fix the corruption that is so evident with Democrat policies and official actions in our country. If you are hearing from news sources that are not censored, you know about these actions and policies that exist in various places in America. I encourage all conservative minded citizens to be aware of the different political environment that now exists to potentially effect real change back to principles that make this nation a home for freedom and liberty. We should also recognize the potential that it represents for changes that can continue to be implemented as a result of the future 2024 elections.

Obviously the Senate is still in control of the Democrat party that will oppose a return to America's principles and ideals, but this is a marathon, not a sprint now in our history to restore what has been corrupted in America for many years. Meanwhile, let us continue to live as free people, encouraging each other in the belief that all humans are created equal, while defending this nation and all of its ideals that are vested in our national and state Constitutions.
